Last week I snuck out to the beach after putting in a long day of writing. I knew I'd be leaving town for a dry weekend, so I had to make the most of the smallish conditions. One peak was overrun with 10 or so surfers, so I paddled out at the second creek, opting for a steady flow of tiny waves all to myself. It was glassy and fun and I ran into Slim (right upper corner), who was putting his new Art Colyer-shaped "speed dialer" through its paces. Looking forward to blowing off more steam when the waves pick up a little this week!

this weekend also looks worth it. I speed dialed myself on Sunday and got into waves earlier than ever. We shoudl roll out.
Ahhhh, outed!!
Looks fun you fishniks.
I gotta say that although I feel a bit gay getting a speed dialer so soon after Slim, Sunday proved how good of a decision it was. That thing is rediculous.
I had it fun thurs and Fri mornings with barely anyone out... Even got on a longboard for a wave but I must say, if its too small for my quad, its too small...
How were the open beaches that evening? There is one spot that seems to be lining up very nicely on the way to Shorties. Never surfed it but it is lining up as a right off a not so big rock...
Yeah. It was small, but being a small person, I can still manage to get into the ankle slappers on my 5'8.
As for the open beaches, I know what you're talking about. I wonder if there's a nasty longshore rip out there...
Shorties had some fun head high ones midday on Monday, went to shit about 3 or 4pm...
