UNKNOWN PLEASURES
I missed the "epic" day Saturday and was stressed that Sunday would suck. Our setups in Oregon seem so fickle that if someone farts out of the south, things will get blown out for a week. Sure enough, despite heaps of good stoke karma being projected at our planned destination, the SW winds were flatulating when we arrived, making PC look like bumpy old road. Not to be deterred, Ebb, OS and yours flu-ly scoured the coastline until we found a wind shadow. I swear it was bigger than these pictures suggest, but our stealthy lensman snagged these snaps at the end of the day when the tide had changed, the swell had dropped, and the wind crept into our wee wave haven. Anyone who knows this spot knows how quickly it can change. Imagine it bigger and glassier and you'll have an inkling of our unknown pleasures.

Damn, what I wouldn't give for something like pic 4 right about now. Chum, could you please email me at consafos@earthlink.net when you get a moment- I have a Portland event question to ask of you
Brooklyn's in the house...
Chum, might you please petition God to send some swell our way? We've been having a very flat fall. I've resorted to skating again but the fall waters call us East coasters more dearly.
Keep up the good read. We'll work on perfecting our mindsurfing...
Should have seen Sat and Fri and Thurs, I heard was pretty damn good also... My God...
That looks like fun anyhow.
Wow, wish I had opted to go south instead of north sunday.
Sunday's turn happened in a matter of 20 minutes. Caught a left in as the south wind was hitting and made the long trek up the beach. Stopped at the shower to watch as it had literally turned to shit.
I'm getting the feeling that it was the last string of favorable surf days for a while. It's one of those things that makes you charge even if you're nursing a nasty cold and are running on a couple hours of sleep.
Brooklyn, I'm putting a call in to Poseidon for you... But you have to send Weisbecker our way in return.
NM, gas chambers looked like an absolute toilet bowl when we got there at 11:30. Lucky for you, you can access it at the drop of a hat.
As I packed my car Sunday afternoon I watched the front move in...as I drove home I said to my wife..."You know...I'm always happier heading home when I know the surf's shitty."
can't beleive you guys are already wearing gloves and hoods. surfed three hours sat and sun in my 4/3 with booties. water still in the 50's. give it a couple of months though and it's be down in the freezing range.
stoked to see you got some phatty waves though. how's the 2+1 post repair?
Sissy, have you seen Control yet? Fuckin' great movie. Just so kick ass if you like JD even a little bit. Could have been easily a cheesy vh-1ish behind the scenes mess. check it out.
push,
how the hell did you get your hands on that movie? isn't it coming out in a couple days? just checked the trailer on youtube and it looks incredible...
I forgot October was the release for Control. I wonder if the lead actor will out perform Sean Harris who played Curtis in 24 Hour Party People...

Poseidon and the wind fairies look like they are conspiring but nothing like what y'all had. Weisbecker will not be available until Friday morning. Unfortunately previous engagements are keeping me away from another good Mollusk partay...
Ras, no gloves, no hood and plenty warm in the 3/2.......... but I got more hair than most.
It was a beauty weekend, glad you got some Chum.......
Saw an advance screening in a nice theater when the director rolled thru LA. LA, I guess, is good for something. Yes, he is WAY better than the dude in 24 party people.
See it!
Sis, Great song and band choice to accompany your post.
Push, thanks reminding us all about Control, looks good.
Envious to say the least.
You spoke to Poseidon and he sent the waves. OH in LI. 'Nuff shacking for this grom. Keep up the dialogue with the underwater guy with the trident 'cause wed should be nice...
On a side note, nice drama you sparked. I like Nash's suggestion, esp in relation to all the beef from others... very funny.
