A Blue Diamond Is Forever

A person I know who used to spend a lot of time with Yvonne Chouinard told me they were together once when he received a custom surfboard he'd ordered. As Yvonne opened the box with the biggest Cheshire grin his face, he said: "Every man should know the feeling of having a new surfboard on the way."

Without further ado: my winged diamond tail 2+1, shaped by Manuel Caro of Mandala. It has fluted wings, glass-on bamboo side fins from 101 Fin Company, and a semi-opaque blue resin tint from the Moonlight Glassing crew. Dimensions: 5'11 x 20.5 x 2.625 (or somthing). Skip Frye Flex Fin finds the path of least resistance through the water, allowing for speed and snap.

You'll get a better report once I ride the thing. Manny is putting it in the mail tomorrow.

Many sure as hell knows how to make a surfboard! That looks really nice, love the subtle wing/bump. What are the bottom contours like? Going to be fun trying some fins in that too I bet.

Nuno - did you get a Winged-D as well?

Kirk - Bottom has a single to double concave out the tail to channel the water around the big fin. I think so, at least...

Sick! That flex fin is perfect for that board - you're going to have a lot of fun.

I get a double wing quad fish, is at the moonbase waiting for J.Cherry fins. I'm sure that will be a very special board.

enjoy that board now because accelerating onto the 405 onramp and seeing that board soar in your rear view mirror instantly realizing you forgot to fasten your rack straps while asking that hottie what kind of dog she's walking will break the spell pretty quick

Looks like fun, dude. :-) From the pictures, it looks like some super thick glass on it.

Looks sweet! I picked up a board from Manny this time a year ago...............the worst week of my life was the week it was going unridden while under the knife for ding repair.......wax her well!

Gaz, I remember surfing Gas Chambers with you and asking about the Mandala. It was only days after I ordered mine. Now I think there are maybe three in Oregon.

The problem with giving yourself a diamond is the obligatory sex afterwards...so lonely.

I guess I finally scored!

I don't know if you can read french, but anyway, you can still look at the pictures of the "UK Fish Fry" report a friend of mine wrote lately.
Mani Caro, Rich Pavel and Chris Christenson were there, among other fish shapers...

I can´t hear about diamond word even if you mean anything else. But the true is that i would like to have bracelet, rings and necklace with diamond everywhere. This gemstone shouldn´t be sold too expensive. that is why i prefer to buy viagra for my husband at a good price and the result is wonderful.
