What color bait?

According to oregonsurf.com, an 18-foot-long, 5000-pound great white shark attacked a surfer on Halloween in Lincoln City. It was the second shark attack in the area this year. Nobody was hurt, but apparently, both victims' surfboards were the same color: yellow.

Makes me think of fishing for trout with Power Bait. Seems like every season the fish are interested in a different color. Orange, chartruese, yellow, rainbow. If you don't know what they're biting on, they pretty much treat your hook like a chopped liver.

Hmmm.

Paint a black seal on the bottom of it. That should throw them off.

Seriously...

I wonder if there's a color that sharks are repulsed by. Hope it's hot pink, since that's what I'm considering for the Mandala...

Shit. That's the color of the sushi I ate today.

Damn! Wish you would have said hello. I was busy chatting up family and friends (and dealing with anxiety by downing beers) but it woulda been cool (not too creepy).

I saw a guy on TV in South Africa, who swam among great white sharks with a carboard painted in black and white.
That apparently kept them away, because it's the same color as the killer whales, which are the only predators for sharks...

You seen the christian's board? All locked up for winter. Where are those zebra stripes, when you need them?

Funny enough, Mike Parsons had zebra stripes on his board at the Nelscott contest today (which takes place in Lincoln City! He's in the know...

Sharks are color blind.

Actually , now some shark websites say they can see color.

I'm using The Google.

I'm actually surprised there isn't more research on the subject.
