Wax On
Put some new wax on my stick tonight in anticipation of tomorrow's session. As you can see, I got a little carried away. Inspiration came from the wild wax jobs I've seen created by the guys down at Mollusk Surf Shop in SF. I'm sure one layer of mushy cold water wax will screw up the design, but it was nice to get artsy-fartsy for 20 minutes as the sun set on my front porch.

That's a trip, man. I've never seen something like that before.
I'll be out there for the low to high push. Much housework kept me from the water this weekend. I'll be on the lookout for a psychedelic wax job.
That is so funny, Amy and I were waxing up my fish (all artsy like) at like 5:30 PST. There is a thin ine between psychic and psycho.
Hopefully, you draw lines that nice in the waves today. Think I'm heading out tomorrow and the next day when OS gets in to town. Then down to La Fonda for the weekend. Wish you were comin' with.
what is going on with your custom Mandala? Been checking in to see pics.
Looks like someone never learned to color within the lines. ;)
Goes well with the board.
Still waiting on my Mandala! It's in the hands of the Moonlight Posse. I haven't heard from Manny in a while, so I'm hoping his absence means he's en route to Leucadia to pick up some finished products.
True dat about not coloring inside the lines!
Damn. I have wax *and* board envy.
Any help on the process?
I wanna be artsy tooo!
What do ya doo to the basecoat bar? freeze it?
I'm clueless?
assssistance?
WJ,
Pretty easy, actually. I didn't have basecoat, so I just used warm water wax to draw the initial lines. Works fine up here cuz the water's so dang cold. Then, I just very lightly rubbed the flat part of the bar over the whole deck in circles. It really only sticks to the lines, mostly and leaves small traction bumps between. Get ARTSY!
And let me know how it goes...
