Bird in a Barrel

I swear that I saw a seagull pull into a little tube on Sunday. It may have just been the angle, but from where I was sitting the little charger was perfectly framed in the teardrop of the wave. I think I even saw a little spit blast his tailfeathers as he emerged to trim along the shoulder.

As a side note, I just got a film called Ultimate Sessions from Netflix today. I could use a little "Morning of the Earth." I'm gonna watch it right now...

It's a pity they changed the music of the "Free ride" part because of obscure copyright problems...
Disco doesn't suit surfing.... :(

We get pelicans and dolphins that crave the wave down here. I've seen a pelican do what looked like a feather drag on the face of a wave...

Morning of the Earth is my favorite surf film; I love the part when they are all dancing around a miniature version of Stonehenge.

Regarding the birds: This is how they roll in SD.

I was being bombarded by pelicans on tuesday. Then I hit 'something' while surfing. Very strange. Neer figured out what it was but it vibrated my whoe board. wasn't a rock. No dings and it was a sandy beach break. Lots of wildlife around right now. Giant jellies also.

Funny you should say that Pete. I was at PC today (it was firing) and I heard a large splash/thrash behind me. When I turned around, there was big huge boil and a bunch of bubbles. I consoled myself by assuming it was a big sea lion. I also consoled myself by catching the best right of my life!

Hey Jeff and Patchie! Nice to see you guys again! Yeah. The music "At the Carwash" was a bit strange during one of the sequences. But that Supertubes part with Dane Kaeloha was the shit!

Speaking of shit, steer clear of those pelicans...

Lotta pelicans got more style than the board riders round here.
